Tis the Season of Giving

This year I decided to go the extra mile (so I thought) and make something crafty to give to our friends and neighbors. I decided to keep all of the expensive formula cans (Nutramigen $26.00, 16oz cans) of Emily's and get a little extra use out of them. I figured that I had spent so much money on them, they needed to pay their dues. So, I contacted my scrap booking friend to see if she had any cute things that I could pay her for, purchased pretty Christmas scrapbook paper and decided to try my luck. I felt they turned out fine, but I WILL NOT be doing it again! It took way to long. Inside of the decorated cans, I lined them with tissue paper and filled them with different types of cookies. I ended up only making 6 and then for the rest of my friends I purchased candy and candles (I know, I was a little generic) but they were much easier.
On Sunday we decided to delivery our gifts. We let Ethan and Adam take them to the door and say, "Merry Christmas". The first two houses were hysterical. The first house has 2 small dogs that came out and I thought Adam was going to have a heart attack. Then Ethan disappeared into their house and closed the door leaving Adam outside by himself with the dogs. Dan and I were laughing so hard at Adam we didn't realize that Ethan was gone. We finally sent Adam back to the door to ask Ethan to come on. He came running out with a tin full of goodies. They were both screaming about this. Then they decided that this should and would happen at every house, even though we tried to explain to them that we were giving things away and not expecting anything in return. I think Ethan's response was, "they were so cool mom!" At the second house, Adam knew what to expect and wasn't going to let Ethan leave him out in the cold. They both stood in front of the door, said "Merry Christmas" waited 2 seconds, our friends must have said come in and in exact unison they both stepped into the house together and closed the door. Five minutes later they emerged with goodies, you would have thought they had won the lottery. The next few houses weren't quite as exciting for them but they still had a great time!

It's Christmas Time

For FHE on Monday, we decided to put together a gingerbread house. As you can see by our pictures the kids had a great time and made a huge mess. I think there was more candy on the floor than there was on the house. Every day Adam asks me if he can eat the gingerbread house, and every day I give the same reply, "not until Christmas".

Girls Night

Last night a few of my friends and I went to the late show (9:00pm) and watched AUSTRALIA, with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. I loved this movie!! It was a little long (2 hrs 40 min) but I laughed, cried, wanted to kill someone and cried some more. But, I left the theatre feeling good that I had seen it. It always helps when there is a little eye candy in long movies. My friends were swooning over Hugh Jackman, OK I was swooning to! We all wore sweats, had our snack of choice (nacho's, popcorn, junior mints.... you get the idea) and of course DIET COKE!! Thanks for a great time ladies!

My New Countertops

BEFORE
AFTER
BEFORE
AFTER

Well, we finally took the plunge and purchased granite counter tops. I love them!!! There are several things that I love about them, 1) My kitchen looks better with them 2) The counters never seem dirty anymore 3) It looks like I have more kitchen space 4) clean up is a lot easier and the ultimate thing about them, my absolute favorite thing is 5) My new sink and faucet. I love the sink more than anything else!! It is amazing! I can put tons of dishes in them and you will never see them, they are so deep. My old sink was 1/3 of the depth that my new ones are, I love them! I decided to add a few before and after pictures, so you would get the idea. I'm sure my pictures don't do them justice.

Ethans Artwork on Artsonia.com

Ethan's school started displaying all of the students artwork online at www.artsonia.com/Ethan2104. I think he did a really great job, I really like his first angel, the colors work great together. He was very excited when I pulled them up on the computer. I've posted them here so you could see them. They will continue to post pictures on the previously mentioned website for the rest of the year. GOOD JOB ETHAN!!

Pictures of Ethan

I forgot to post Ethan's School picture and Soccer picture yesterday. I can't believe how big he is getting. He seems so grown up to me. Poor Ethan has been sick since Thursday night. He has been running 102 fever and feeling like dirt. I took him to the doctors on Saturday and they ran a strep test, flu test and blood tests. So far all they know is his white blood count is low, which makes them think it is just a virus. He is home again today and if he doesn't start feeling better, I get to take him back to the doctor. Oh, how wonderful life can be!!

Emily Turns 6 Months

I realized that I have been a little slow in getting the Kids pictures taken, so I decided to make an appointment and rush them over to the portrait studio during Thanksgiving break. I think everyone else had the same idea, because even though we had an appointment, we still had to wait 20 minutes, then on our first session the photos didn't turn out so, they told me to come back in 20 minutes for a redo. It sounds good on paper, but here is the time that we spent in Target. Enter at 11:20 for our appointment... walk out at 2:00 with 3 crying kids...Priceless!
