Our Baby Is On The Move

Emily is on the move, she has been crawling for about a week now. I forgot how much time you spend taking them from dangerous locations over, and over, and over......to find them back in the same locations 5 minutes later. Her latest fascination is the windows and the TV. I have to put my drapes up and the blinds up, but she loves to use the ledge and push herself into a standing position. She also loves to push all of the buttons on the DVD player and change the channel on the TV. This causes mass hysteria when the boys are watching one of their favorite programs. :O)

She turns 9 months old on Sunday! I know as parents we say this over and over, but the time has gone by extremely fast. It probably seems fast to me, since Emily is our last.

Ethan's School Play

The 4 kindergarten classes at Ethan's school put on a play about the 3 Nanny goats and their 3 younger brothers. It was very cute! Ethan was chosen to play Willy Goat, the 2nd younger brother. There were 3 girl goats, 3 boy goats, 2 butterflies, 1 bee and 1 mean troll. The rest of the students were on risers on the sides singing. The kids seemed to have a great time.

Adam's 1st Day of Preschool

Our Sweet Adam started preschool this month. He was very excited to be a big boy and go to school like Ethan. He has been wanting to go for a while, but you have to be potty trained. I really didn't believe this child would ever get out of diapers and pull-ups. He definitely does things at his own pace. When I ask him what his favorite part of the day is, he always says, "lunch". He loves packing his lunch box with me in the mornings. He attends preschool 2 days a week for a few hours. They do all types of crafts and they are starting to learn colors, which he already knows. Adam loves to be home with mommy. Actually he just loves to be home, if we run to the store or the gym he always wants to know when we are going home.

Emily Turned 8 Months

Our little one is growing so fast! She loves to sit up and put everything in her mouth. She has finally learned to say, "mama". Forever all I ever heard was, da da da da da da. She is into everything and the boys aren't sure about this new found freedom of hers. They are constantly tattle telling on her. I keep reminding them that she is fine to move around and play with all of her toys. The other day I heard Adam yelling at her. He was extremely upset, so as a good mother I went rushing in to find Emily on top of Adams blanket. Adam thinks that blanket is his life line and he was not about to start sharing it with his sister. When I asked him if she could please lay on it for a few minutes he sobbed and said, "no, I don't want her throwing up on it". I of course couldn't help laughing because she does throw up on everything, but we still love her!

We Will Miss You Grandma

Grandma, Ethan, Adam & niece Presley

Grandma & Mom

On Wednesday January 7, 2009 my wonderful grandma "Norma O'Dell" passed away. I was fortunate enough to have my Grandma visit in May 2008, for Emily's baby shower.
Dan and I loaded up the kids and headed for Arizona on Thursday afternoon, since Dan had client meetings all morning on Thursday. This was a long and grueling 13 hour trip (not including stops, when you have 3 kids you know you have to stop). We arrived in Safford, AZ at 2:45am on Friday morning, slept for about 5 hours and then we had to head over to the funeral home to help dress, etc. The service was on Saturday afternoon and then Sunday morning we headed back home. My darling children handled the trip like troopers. Poor Emily was so good, except for the last hour. She screamed so hard that we had to pull over and take her out of her chair for a while (adding more time to our trip) but we didn't mind, she didn't even fuss the rest of the time. Our little family is still completely exhausted. I had to make Ethan get up for school this morning (he usually wakes me) and I had to wake Emily up at 8:55 to take Adam to preschool, I know that doesn't seem early but she went to sleep at 7:00pm the night before (14 hours). We were so blessed to be able to see and spend time with our Family and Friends!

Dan's New Baby

Dan and I decided to purchase a new car (for Dan). His 98 civic just doesn't seem to be impressing the clients anymore. So, we looked into all of our options and ended up purchasing a 2009 Honda Accord. I love this car, I told him that I would sacrifice and give him the minivan and I would struggle in the accord with our 3 beautiful children. He informed me that no sacrificing was needed on my part. Thanks for being such a giver babe!!

Christmas At Home In Texas

Santa wraps presents at the Buhman house (yes, its a lot of work!) The after affects of Christmas morning
This year Dan and I decided to stay home for Christmas. This was the first time that Santa actually came to our house, it was so much fun!! For Christmas Eve my family usually does a traditional Mexican feast, but this year (since it was just the 5 of us) we went out for a wonderful Mexican dinner. Then we had invited a few friends over to decorate Christmas cookies for Santa and read and act out the nativity. The kids had a great time playing with their friends. Dan of course made his famous eggnog and we had a few appetizers and drinks.

On Christmas morning the boys came running into our room telling us that Santa had come. They were talking so fast, I could only make out a few words. Some of them were, "dinosaur book, ate cookies, a letter and come on, lets go. I rolled over to verify the time on the clock, I was hoping it was still the middle of the night, so I could make them go back to bed but it was 7:45. We had a great Christmas! I made a wonderful Christmas dinner, we grilled steaks had stuffing, fresh green beans, corn and cream cheese dish, rolls, pumpkin pie and chocolate cream pie (all made from scratch). Then we were invited to spend the evening with friends playing games and eating more food.

I'm glad we stayed home, everyone seems to be sick. Dan and Emily had bronchitis, Emily ended up also getting double ear infections. Then I got sick and the doctor told me I had pneumonia, now Ethan and Adam are coughing and Ethan seems to be running a fever. Sometimes I wonder if our little family will ever be well :o)
