Ethans Last T-Ball Game

Every Saturday for the last several months, Ethan has had t-ball games. You always pray as parents that you get the 9:00 or 10:00am time slots, because if you are any later you are sweating like crazy. Well, today was Ethan's last t-ball game and the weather couldn't have been better. It was cloudy, breezy and cool. Now, I know that this is not normal for Texas in August, but for some reason we are being blessed this week. We have actually been in the mid 80's during the days. This is something that we cheer about since we are usually over 100. Ethan really loves playing t-ball or baseball as he calls it. When he first started playing he could bat and throw the ball really well, but I don't know if he really understood the entire concept of the game. After watching him today, it really amazes me how much he has learned. He is a great player, always hustling for the ball and always running to get it (sometimes when it is not in his area) :o) He realizes now that the purpose is to get the other runner out and to do this you have to tag him or throw it to the base before the runner gets there. Dan has been helping out with games and practices this season as the t-balls assistant coach. I know that he has a crazy work schedule, but I am grateful that he makes the time to spend it with Ethan. They love being together! Dan is a great coach, he is energetic and very patient. Qualities that are a necessity when it comes to working with four, five and six year olds. Starting next week, he will be coaching Ethan's soccer team again for the third time.

Adam loves going to the t-ball games as well. We were fortunate this year to have several of our friends on the same team, Adam thought this was great. He also loves to play on the baseball field fence (which you can see in the pictures) and eat snacks during the entire game. Next year Adam will be able to play soccer and t-ball, both boys might even be able to be on the same team. Today while I was making lunch for everyone, Ethan and Adam were playing with the soccer ball in the kitchen. Ethan was telling Adam all of the rules (his rules) of the game. Adams new comment for everything was, "that's totally cool". I'm not sure where he picked up this new lingo, but it makes me realize how fast my little ones are growing up.
